If holiday close to the water is your idea of relaxing break then look no further than the Lake District. The reason I like log cabins in the Lake District so much is that they seem to fit so unobtrusively into their surroundings and look beautiful. It's not only on the exterior that these log cabins win me over regardless of whether you go to in the winter or summer log cabins have a certain charm about them. The older log cabins you can expect to find with pine clad walls which in themselves project a warmth that is welcome more year-round. The newer log cabins and more often than not plasterboard lined and looked more like contemporary houses inside. Regardless of your taste you'll be able to find a log cabin holiday that suits your taste.
The Lake District is not only a great place to go to admire the views if you like active holidays there is a wealth of walks, cycle tracks, canoeing and rock climbing that can be done. Regardless of which water you are staying near all of these activities will be on your doorstep, it really is a Mecca for the outdoor lover.
